Metcalf Clinics are co-op, project-based training program for UChicago students. During the paid project, teams of undergraduates take a deep dive into a professional area of interest and build relevant experience. Students are placed in teams to lead engagements, research, and projects with employer partners. During the program, teams receive access to coaches, industry experts, and the opportunity to network with successful alumni. Fellowship Stipend Range 

Internship Time Commitment: Fall Quarter 4-6 hrs per week

Hamrah Arts Club Project

The Youth are Our Future: the Hamrah Arts Club Brings Refugee Youth Together on a Journey of Self-Expression | Southwest Contemporary

Launched in 2021, Hamrah Arts Club is an independent creative mentorship program for refugee-status youth, fostering solidarity between refugee, asylum-seeking, and immigrant communities and creating a network of support through creative expression. Hamrah—meaning fellow traveler in Farsi—employs care to build community through creative projects, mental-health workshops, field trips, and authentic peer mentorship.

Job Duties and Responsibilities  

Interns may support finalizing the project’s website that is already designed and built, and prepare it for launch. Some responsibilities include proofreading, transcribing audio to text, loading data on the website, PR (creating written and designed content), and SEO optimization.

There will be weekly meetings for reporting. Access to a personal laptop or the media lab is required. This internship is for Fall 2025 quarter and requires 4 to 6 hours per week.

Requirements

A successful candidate should have strong communication skills, be self-motivated, responsible, and be able to work independently and problem solve. Advanced writing and editing skills as well as basic to intermediate design and web development skills are required. 

Previous experience in proofreading, website or project development is preferred.
