AI Development Program - Winter 2026

Program Overview

In collaboration with instructors from the Data Science Institute, students will complete four workshops focused on skills required for technical AI roles at leading tech firms. They will gain hands on experience leveraging common foundational models and learn approaches to handling issues around hallucinations, operational guardrails, and AI-human interactions.

Students selected for this program will be eligible for funding to support a Summer 2026 internship in AI or related area.

Eligibility
This program is open to 2nd and 3rd Year College students.

Course Pre-Requisites:

  • Computer Science: 2 quarters of CS coursework or 1 quarter + demonstrated experience
  • Mathematics: MATH 15100-15200 Calculus I & II, plus MATH 19620 Linear Algebra or equivalent
  • At least one statistics course equivalent to STAT 25100 or STAT 22000

Program Dates
Students must be available for all 4 in-person workshops to participate:
Session 1 - Tuesday, Jan. 13, 6:00-7:30pm
Session 2 - Thursday, Jan. 15, 6:00-7:30pm
Session 3 - Tuesday, Jan. 27 , 6:00-7:30pm
Session 4 - Thursday, Jan. 29, 6:00-7:30pm
