Financial Markets Program
About the Program
- The Financial Markets Program (FM) is a selective program that prepares UChicago students for successful careers in Trading, Markets, Risk Management, Data Science, Sports Analytics, Finance, and Econ Consulting.
- FM members secure job and internship opportunities with top firms such as Citadel, SIG, Jane Street, Optiver, DRW, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, & Goldman Sachs.
Financial Markets Curriculum
The program prepares students for success with a holistic curriculum that includes:
- Trading workshops covering key skills such as Market Making, Macro, Sell side Hedge Fund Trading, along with Python & Machine Learning Workshops
- Site Visits to Chicago area trading firms such as DRW, IMC, Optiver, Chicago Trading Company, Belvedere, Peak6.
- MBA-level coursework at the world-renowned Chicago Booth School of Business
Application Eligibility
- Current first-year
- All majors welcome
- 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Commitment to being available on Fridays from 1:45pm-5:00pm for required weekly workshops
How to Apply
Class of 2029 students will have one cycle to apply for the Financial Markets Program.
Application Timelines
- December 1: Application Opens
- January 23: Application Deadline
- February 20: Decisions Released
- March 23: Spring Quarter Core Programming Begins
- Students can apply to both Trott & FM but will only be accepted to one program. Please indicated your preferred program on your application.
