Careers in Law: Law & Politics Program 2026-27

The Law and Politics Program is a selective, one-year program offered to rising second-, third-, and fourth-year students interested in exploring the intersection of careers in politics and the law. Selected students will receive specialized advising and targeted programming. The track will culminate with each student presenting an individual or small-group capstone project such as a campaign speech, issue brief, mock press conference, or debate.

Students will be invited to moderate our meetings with professionals. Past speakers have included: Sen. Dick Durbin, Congresswoman Sarah McBride, US Attorney Leigha Simonton, US District Court Judges Andrea Wood and Wes Hendrix, and former Labor Dept. Secretary Eugene Scalia.

Benefits: Students who participate in the Law and Politics Program are eligible to receive funding for an unpaid internship in the summer following their participation in the program. Students will also receive a transcript designation noting their participation if all program requirements are met.

Course meetings will take place in the evenings, typically from 5-6pm, depending on the schedules of our speakers. There will be approximately 4-6 meetings each quarter.

Application: Please submit your resume along with responses to the three application questions below (each response maximum 300 words) no later than 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15.
