2026 Venture Capital Program Overview

Program Description

Rising 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Year students (graduating between December 2026 and June 2029) are eligible to apply to participate in this four-day immersive Venture Capital Program. The program will feature sessions on:

  • The history of venture capital and its role in the economy
  • The lifecycle of venture investing and funding rounds
  • Valuation concepts and methods
  • Simulation of an investment committee and venture pitch
  • Networking opportunities with venture firms, founders, and investors

Students will hear directly from successful founders and professionals, including representatives from leading venture capital firms such as DRW Venture Capital, Chicago Ventures, Hyde Park Ventures, Drive Capital, Techstars, Blackhorn Ventures, and more.

Participants will learn to evaluate early-stage companies, participate in a mock investment committee, and engage in a venture pitch simulation. The curriculum includes lectures, case studies, and interactive workshops led by investors and founders in the Chicago and global venture community.

 

Additional Program Details

  • Networking: Meet and network with Chicago Booth students, staff, alumni, and Chicago-area venture capital professionals.
  • Meals & Lodging: Breakfast and lunch are provided daily. Double occupancy hotel accommodations will be available for students not living in University Housing who need assistance with lodging.
  • Pre-Program Requirements: Accepted students are required to complete pre-program work prior to the start of the program.

 

Eligibility, Program Dates & Schedule

Eligibility:
Selective participation. Open to students graduating between December 2026 and June 2029 who are committed to learning about venture capital, entrepreneurship, and early-stage investing.

Program Dates:

  • Tuesday, September 22 – Friday, September 25, 2026
    Students must be available to attend all sessions in-person and complete pre-program work by September 1, 2026.

Session Schedule (subject to change):

  • Tuesday through Friday: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
