2026-27 Clinical Service Fellows Application

This program helps first and second year students understand what it means to serve patients. Fellows complete 2-4 minimum hours of volunteering each week during the academic year. Volunteer sites include hospitals, clinics, and community organizations in Hyde Park and throughout Chicago.

A complete application consists of:

1) A one-page resume

2) Cover Letter

Cover Letter:

Please write a cover letter including answers to the following questions:

• Why do you want to serve patients?
• Which healthcare issues and/or social determinants of health are you interested in understanding more deeply?
• If you have previous service/volunteer experience, describe a meaningful experience you had while serving others.
• ·If you do not have previous experience, describe a time when you were impacted by a healthcare professional.
• If you speak a language other than English, please indicate that as well as your level of proficiency.

Program Requirements:

Complete all onboarding steps and submit a signed service agreement.

Agree to follow the rules and guidelines as determined by the service site.
