Student Assistant at Social Sciences Division - 3CT

Job Description:
The Chicago Center for Contemporary Theory (3CT) is an interdisciplinary space for sustained, comparative discussion of social and political processes in the contemporary world. Founded in 2004 by seven faculty members from the Divisions of the Humanities and the Social Sciences, our collective has grown to include 16 fellows, enhancing the Center’s intellectual strengths and enabling imaginative collaborations across the disciplines of anthropology, English, history, political science, and sociology.

3CT is seeking a graduate or undergraduate student to assist with regular program and administrative tasks. The position is for approximately 6-8 hours per week during the academic year and will include occasional evening and weekend hours.

The Student Assistant reports to the Assistant Director of 3CT and works closely with the Program Assistant. Tasks may include, but are not limited to: event set-up and breakdown, including handling food and beverages; event photography; distributing posters and other campus errands; creating content for social media; data entry; managing office supplies; and maintaining 3CT’s common spaces.

Pay range: $13-17/hour
Hours: 6-10 hours/week
