Project Assistant at Department of Comparative Literature

The department of Comparative Literature seeks a motivated and organized student to assist the department administrator and faculty with clerical office support and project assistance as needed. Additional responsibilities may include event planning and day-of coordination, and writing communications and developing social media content and updating the website. Qualified individuals will have excellent communication skills—in writing, interpersonal interactions, and on the phone; with a desire to serve and provide excellent customer service to all constituencies in the department and university.

The ideal candidate will be available approximately 5-10 hours per week, with some flexibility or blocks of time available to work in the office. Applicants should be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, beginner-level Excel, Outlook); solving basic arithmetic problems using business math; and the ability to use social media and online software like LucidPress and MailChimp to develop communications with clarity and creativity. The ability to be an adaptive team player, who can adjust to competing work priorities is a must. Please note that students with Work Study are strongly encouraged to apply, and hiring of this position will be contingent on funding approval.
