Intern at Triangle House - Micro Metcalf Opportunity

Triangle House is a Brooklyn-based literary community established in 2017 by Monika Woods, Bryan Woods, and Becca Schuh. At Triangle House Literary, a boutique literary agency, Monika represents leading voices in contemporary fiction and non-fiction. Triangle House Review publishes a literary web magazine monthly(ish), currently hosts a virtual lecture series called Homebound, and publishes select books rarely.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
As an intern for Triangle House, you will be responsible for reading submissions and manuscripts, writing reader reports and copy, and contributing to the social media accounts on a daily and weekly basis. You’ll move from learning professional communicating with Triangle House colleagues to writers and other publishing colleagues. You will also be responsible for research, organizational, and light administrative tasks. An example of a day might be reading ten pages in the morning, writing a quick critical response, then working on a database of book-related media, or working to organize an issue launch. The internship is designed to accompany other work and the work is flexible, educational, and collaborative.

Requirements

Applicants should be interested in writing and reading, but beyond that, be interested in the way books and literary magazines intersect with culture in the form of criticism, journalism, conversation, and academia. Applicants should also be curious about the publishing industry and interested in the idea of pursuing a career in publishing, writing, or media. If you follow writers on Twitter, have favorite independent magazines, or turn a book over to look who has praised it, or even know a single publisher, this could be the internship for you!

Please apply with a cover letter introducing yourself, why you’re interested in the internship, and your resume.
