The research assistant will work on projects leveraging high-resolution geographically precise movement data: namely, pings generated by GPS devices attached to trucks in India and locational services requested by smartphones in the US. Scope of work will include (1) writing code to process raw data, (2) summarizing and visualizing movement data, and (3) producing maps to depict the results of spatial analysis.

Applicants keen on big data and spatial analysis are encouraged to apply. See http://www.jdingel.com/ for examples of past projects, such as measuring pandemic-relevant phone movements and defining city boundaries using satellite imagery.
