CIL: Law & Politics Track Application

Building on the success of its first year, Careers in Law is excited to announce the opening of applications for Law & Politics 2021-2022, a one-year selective track program. Politics is the leading reason for attending law school among pre-law students. The program is open to all rising second-, third-, and fourth-year students regardless of major. The program is specifically targeted at students who are interested in attending law school with the aim of entering politics. The program will serve its small cohort (10-15 students) with specialized advising; mentoring; targeted programming; and final projects such as a debate, a mock press conference, or a mock campaign speech on current issues.  This year's speakers included Valerie Jarrett and Congressman Andy Kim '04. The Careers in Law program will be working closely with multiple campus partners such as the Office of Civic Engagement, the Parrheshia Program for Public Discourse and the Institute of Politics. Applications will open at 5 pm on Tuesday, March 2nd 2021 and close on Friday, March 26th. The slides from the info session on 3/2 are attached to this posting.
