New York Philharmonic Archives Summer Intern
With the recent reopening of the renovated David Geffen Hall, the New York Philharmonic Archives is seeking a summer intern who will be involved in all aspects of exhibit design, digital content creation, artwork selection, description, installation, and more for display in both physical and digital formats. In tandem with Philharmonic archivists the intern will research and curate exhibits based on 2023-24 season programming and community oriented projects in two gallery display cases, as well as populate a content management system to power digital touchscreen exhibits in the Hall’s lobby areas. Content will be sourced from the archives’ digital and analog collections.

In addition, the archives summer intern will participate in standard day-to-day work of the archives including document digitization, description and cataloguing, accessioning, and historical research.

The intern is expected to develop well-researched content for the projects mentioned above. We also hope that they will engage with the digital design aspects of the new lobby space, with an eye to diversify and enrich our exhibitions and programs and create a welcoming environment for all in the new Hall.
