Archival Intern - Odyssey Summer Metcalf

This internship is a paid opportunity for all current Odyssey Scholars.
  • Students from other selective career cohorts, and merit award recipients may be eligible to receive funding for this opportunity. Odyssey Fellowship Award Amount: up to $5,000
Internship Time Commitment: Summer Quarter ( 10 weeks; 320 hours total)

Archival Intern
Depending on qualifications and under supervision, intern(s) will work with the Museum’s Archivist to assist with a variety of processing and cataloging related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
● Rehousing and describing original documents or digital files
● Labeling and inventorying materials
● Helping to assess and identify the value of materials
● Creating collection guides and finding aids.
● Removing non archival materials from collections

Qualifications:
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a
strong attention to detail
● Excellent written communications and strong verbal communication
skills to ask questions and to seek support from supervisor
● Strong organizational skills
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
● Ability to lift 30 lbs and push a work cart
