Artist Liaison

The Artist Liaison will assist University of Chicago Presents (UCP) staff with the production and operations of 25+ regular concerts and events during the academic year. The Assistant's primary responsibilities will include overseeing stage setup, managing hospitality needs, serving as a UChicago Presents representative on-site during rehearsals, and fulfilling possible stage management or front of house needs during events. In addition, the Assistant may provide related administrative support to UCP staff.

Responsibilities:

Set up greenroom hospitality

Receive backline and oversee stage setup

Greet artists upon arrival; show them to the greenroom and introduce them to stage crew

Observe rehearsal and notify Director of Production and Education of any issues

Review riders and order customized greenroom refreshments (e.g., fruit, veggies, snacks, etc.) with keen attention to dietary restrictions and special requests

Order and receive meal delivery for artists before concert; set up in greenroom

Assist with post-concert greenroom clean-up and pack-up

Assist Director of Production and Education with managing artists throughout their time on-site

Front of house; serve as extra usher during events as needed

Provide administrative support as needed (e.g., research/reporting, making reservations, etc.)

Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications: Excellent attention to detail; responsible; experience with concert production and administrative work; familiarity with classical music and jazz. Stage management or front of house experience, and technical knowledge of instruments a plus. This role is ideal for a student with weekday morning/afternoon availability and interest in production and arts administration.

Time commitment is 4-8 hours per week estimated depending on concert schedule, with the possibility of more during periods with more concerts. Most hours will be scheduled during campus business hours (M-F, 8:30-5), but some evening and weekend presence at events is required. Work-study students and graduate encouraged to apply.
