JOB TITLE: Mandel Hall Production Staff
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Mandel Hall and supporting spaces
POSITION REPORTS TO: Mandel Hall Manger of The Student Centers
DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Mandel Hall Manager the student Tech Staff will work closely with internal and external groups to operate specific lighting, sound, video, and other production needs for various types of performances within Mandel Hall. Basic technical operation of production equipment, programming and executing show cues, in addition to interfacing directly with Mandel Hall guests and Clients. This role also involves assisting and educating University Departments and Student Organizations with the equipment within the space and helping execute the different production needs. The position will include, maintenance calls, attending technical training sessions. Mandel Hall production Staff are members of the Student Centers staff and are therefore trusted to provide superior customer service, communicate effectively, and interpret policies as needed to provide Guests and clients with the best experience possible.
LEARNING OUTCOMES AND OBJECTIVES:
Mandel Hall Staff will learn or expand on basic event coordination, production and2 technical skills involved with events in Mandel Hall. In order to effectively perform duties and serve as a representative of the student centers staff, Mandel Hall Tech Staff are expected to exhibit superior customer service skills by using existing skills or those learned from on the job experience. They are expected to communicate, collaborate, and cooperate well with all clients, members of the general public, and other Student centers staff at all times. Hall Staff will also be expected to learn and progress at the technical aspects. Staff with prior experience are encouraged to participate in maintaining and overseeing their particular area of expertise. Those with a particular interest in lighting, sound or Video are encouraged to focus on advancing at a particular area as well as understanding the basics of all the elements involved in a Mandel Hall event. In addition to learning valuable technical productions skills, this position provides the opportunity to learn through direct application, strengthen cognitive skills, develop customer service skills, and refine inter- and intra-personal competencies that will prove useful in future occupational settings.

JOB DUTIES:
● Respond to calls for staffing promptly.
● Install and remove basic lighting, sound and other technical equipment
● Program and execute lighting, sound or video cues
● Educate fellow students about lighting, sound, video and expectations in the theater space
● Perform other duties as needed per production
● Attend technical training sessions
QUALIFICATIONS AND DETAILS:
● Available and willing to work evening and weekend shifts
● Flexible schedule
● Ability to work independently
● Exceptional decision-making skills
● High level of enthusiasm to learn and engage in live event production
● Some previous experience in performing arts, as a performers or technician is preferred but not required.
● Subject to quarterly evaluation by supervisor
● Limited to 19.5 hours per week
● Attend Bi-weekly meeting with supervisor
● $15.80 starting hourly wage
