Title: Research assistant
Hours and duration: 37.5 hours per week for at least 10 weeks in Summer 2024
General summary:
The research assistant will work a minimum of 10 weeks and supporting Eyal Frank, Assistant Professor, by completing research tasks associated with the Principal Investigator’s (PI) project which estimates the health impacts of environmental exposure to animal factory farms. The analysis will use panel data on the intensification of animal agriculture across U.S. counties using the number of farms, and the number of animals in those farms. Those county-year level records will be matched to county-year level records on infant mortality rates as well as cause-specific death rates. The research assistant will be responsible for running panel regression analysis and summarizing the analysis results in progress reports.
Principal Duties and responsibilities:
- Wrangle outcome data, specifically: inpatient visits, to extract the rates of multiple health conditions, and infant health outcomes following fetal exposure, and will prepare them for analysis.
- Produce descriptive statistics, and run simple models using these outcome data.
