Research Assistant with Shaoda Wang

Title: Research assistant 

Hours and duration: 37.5 hours per week for at least 10 weeks in Summer 2024

General summary: 

The research assistant will work a minimum of 10 weeks and supporting Shaoda Wang, Assistant Professor, by completing research tasks associated with the Principal Investigator’s (PI) project on analysis of China’s legal industry and business environment. 

Principal Duties and responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and processing data on lawyers and law firms in China
  • Conducting econometric analysis.

Measure of success: 

Prompt, thorough, and independent carrying out of responsibilities. 

Reporting relationship: 

Shaoda Wang, Assistant Professor, Harris School

Knowledge, skills, and abilities: 

  • Profiency in Python and Stata/R. 
  • Experience with textual analysis, preferred.
  • Econometrics knowledge, preferred. 
  • Chinese language ability, preferred.
