Title: Research assistant
Hours and duration: 37.5 hours per week for at least 10 weeks in Summer 2024
General summary:
The research assistant will work a minimum of 10 weeks and supporting the
Behavioral Insights and Parenting Lab by completing research tasks associated with
the Lab’s project on early childhood development and parental engagement.
Principal Duties and responsibilities:
- Literature Review: Conduct a focused literature review on early math
education, parental engagement, and learning app efficacy. - Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in survey preparation, distribution, and
analysis to identify barriers to math app adoption. - App Customization Coordination: Assist in coordinating app customizations
with developers for research alignment. - Technical Pilot: Play a key role in running the technical pilot for app
customizations. - RCT Preparation: Support the finalization of RCT design and participant
recruitment during the scoping phase. - Survey + Experiment Implementation: Assist in the implementation of the
scoping survey and embedded experiments. - Data Analysis Support: Contribute to data collection, coding, and analysis
during the RCT phase. - Communication and Documentation: Support project documentation and
preparation of reports. - Team Collaboration: Engage in regular team meetings for progress updates
and discussions.
Measure of success:
Prompt, thorough, and independent carrying out of responsibilities.
