Neuroscience Research Metcalf Internship

A limited number of Neuroscience Research Internships are available for the summer of 2024. This internship gives second and third year students majoring in Neuroscience the opportunity to complete research in a neuroscience laboratory. Through directly experiencing the joys and tribulations of the research process, students can discover their own affinity for and interest in neuroscience.

Students must work with a UChicago Neuroscience faculty member (Principal Investigator, or PI) to develop a project that is both significant and feasible within the confines of this 10-week program. Student interns are expected to work full-time in a neuroscience laboratory on campus to complete their proposed project. Interns must also attend weekly, in-person meetings with their cohort of neuroscience researchers. All students will be expected to present their work with a research talk at the end of the quarter.

The 10-week program will begin on Monday, June 10th, 2024, and will conclude on Saturday, August 17th, 2024. Students will receive a $5,500 stipend. Students may not register for any courses during this 10-week summer internship as the stipend is regarded as full-time research.
