SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL PRE-GRADUATE AWARD (SIPGA) - Summer Research Internship 2025

Fellowship Award Amount: S$2,000/month + a one-time additional Metcalf award of $3,000 USD
Summer Internship Time Commitment: 8 weeks, full-time, minimum
Location: Singapore (in-person)
SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL PRE-GRADUATE AWARD (SIPGA) PROGRAM
The Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award (SIPGA) gives international students the unique opportunity to experience the vibrant scientific environment and work with world-renowned researchers at A*STAR’s research institutes.
Students who are pursuing their bachelor’s or degree in a STEM field (Computing and Information Science, Biomedical Science, Physical Science or Engineering-related disciplines) can apply for attachments of two to six months in duration. Open to 2nd and 3rd years - students must not graduate by the time of their internship (must remain in matriculation at the home university throughout the attachment).

Step 2: Prepare Supporting Documents
Please prepare the following supporting documents for submission:
- Copy of passport
- Latest academic transcripts of your bachelor's degree. Translated transcripts are necessary if the originals are not in English.
- Updated Resume / Curriculum Vitae
Step 3: Submit Application
Submit your online application here. You are welcome to apply for up to three (3) projects concurrently.

Step 4: Online Interview
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by the A*STAR researcher for an online interview within 2-3 weeks from the date of application.
Step 5: Await Award Outcome
Successful applicants will be notified within 2 months from the date of application.

Eligibility Criteria
- Open to international 2rd and 3rd year bachelor’s students; 4th years that will not graduate in Summer 2025 are also eligible to apply (students must remain matriculated in their home university during the attachment period)
- Obtained/on track to obtain at least 3.3 GPA
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Strong interest in a research career
- Must be eligible for Training Employment Pass for Singapore (if you are not sure, please contact Katie Fassbinder, katief@uchicago.edu)
