About Us:

We’re a creative startup producing live events for curious adults who love learning cool things. Our first format, Show & Tell for Grown-Ups, is like a mix of MythBusters, TED Talks, and your favorite teacher at an open mic. We’re now building our digital presence (YouTube, Patreon, social) and want two incredible interns to help us grow.

Open Roles:

1. Media Production & Video Editing Intern

  • Organize 150+ filmed talks into a searchable system

  • Develop pitch decks and business ideas with the founder
  • Great for someone who loves entrepreneurship, strategy, and making sense of creative chaos

  • Direct mentorship from the founder
  • A chance to help shape something original, thoughtful, and fun
  • Access to live shows, startup life, and a team that actually cares about what they’re building

Metcalf Grant

If the projects completed during the internship are profitable, there is room for negotiating a percentage of the profits for future work together and a more permanent position with the company.

How to Apply:

We do things a little differently. We believe in spending time on projects that matter rather than perfecting editing the wording of a resume. Talk to us, the humans!

  1. Attend one of our Show & Tell for Grown-Ups events
    • Follow us on Instagram @tellmewhyitscool_show and/visit our website www.tellmewhyshow.com to find our show calendar.
    • Reach out to heythere@tellmewhyshow.com with "Intern Application" in the title to get a comped ticket and let us know you're coming.
    • At the show, introduce yourself to the team during the breaks (Remember it's a working production. We might not have time for a long chat, but we'll be stoked to meet you.)
  2. After the show, respond to that email chain and include the following.
    • Tell us what you thought of the show
      • Share something you liked
      • Share something you'd like to improve and how
    • Tell us why you think you'd be a good fit for either or both of the roles
    • Tell us what you'd share if you were a presenter at show & tell
      • We never make people get onstage. But we do believe that everyone is interesting enough to share their passion with others
  3. If unable to attend a show:
    • Watch and study our Instagram content.
      • What do you notice about the production and content?
    • Tell us via email why YOU think the show is cool and how you think you could contribute to the business via the roles listed above.
